Every Destination In One Day Connected From Each Location In Consecutive Order

For Every Destination In One Day Connected From Each Location In Consecutive Order, a shape is created to commemorate my daily travels. I document and chart every location on a map and then sequentially connect each point. At all times, I am continuously thinking how my actions will ultimately affect the day's final visual.

I am forced to consider the aesthetic value each destination will have on the final drawing. It is my natural tendency to want to create an interesting shape for the viewer. Although on some days I have no control over the outcome (such as when running errands for work), I will coordinate my day accordingly to a produce a more attractive shape.

The shapes are all initially fabricated on my computer and then later drawn with thread on paper. The drawings are hung in a calendar grid communicating my life narrative to the viewer. Viewers are able to distinguish my daily routine through the repetitiveness of similar shapes, as well as realize a substantial life change by a considerable transformation in pattern.

Below is a thread drawing for April 24, 2008 and the computer shapes rendered for April 2008.
